Consumer behaviour

Peoples purchasing decisions are influenced by their behavior and the reasons, behind them. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok play a role in shaping peoples desires for products.

For instance when individuals they admire endorse a product in their posts or videos it often triggers a desire to purchase the item due to the trust placed in that persons opinion. This marketing strategy is commonly known as influencer marketing.

Moreover witnessing others discussing a product or demonstrating its use can spark interest among viewers to make a purchase. Such instances create a sense of authenticity and relatability resembling recommendations.

Occasionally items gain popularity on these social media platforms through challenges or trends. If a product aligns with trends there is usually an increased demand from consumers seeking to be part of the trend or challenge simply because it is trending.

Additionally the fear of missing out on something drives consumer behavior. When individuals observe others acquiring products or visiting places they may feel compelled to follow suit to avoid being left out.

In essence the content people encounter on Instagram and TikTok plays a role, in influencing their purchasing decisions.

Companies and advertisers utilize this method to showcase their products to consumers and pique their interest in making a purchase.
